Hygge House- The Most Romantic Cabin In Washington State

Don’t have time to read it now? Save it for later!
This romantic cabin in Washington State hits all the marks, creating a place that feels reminiscent of a warm hug.
The Hygge House was designed off of the Danish idea of coziness- this design aesthetic lends itself to warm materials, cozy fires, and the feeling of being enveloped by the surrounding environment.
Hygge- “a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being “
From the gorgeous wood hot tub surrounded by ferns and fairy lights to the modern fireplace that fills the small living room with warmth, this cabin is the perfect place for a romantic getaway or small elopement.
The Most Romantic Cabin In Washington State: The Experience
Perched in the forests of the Mount Baker Region sits the Hygge House, a small cabin filled with warmth and love.
The owners renovated this cabin recently and they spared no expense.
You will find large windows that look out onto the trees, a gas fireplace that flickers on at the touch of a button and a modern bathroom with one of the nicest showers I have seen in any cabin.
The star of the show however is the hot tub that sits below the cabin amongst the greenery. A spiral staircase leads you down from the upper deck to a lovely wooden deck that looks out towards the ferns.
Strings of lights lead you to the tub and light up the dreamiest night time hot tub dip you will experience in the Pacific Northwest.
Where Is Hygge House Located?
The Hygge House is located in the Mount Baker region of Washington- far north where the mountains are large and the views unbelievable.
It’s only 25 minute drive to the Mount Baker ski area where you can experience breathtaking views of Mount Baker and Mount Shuksan. In the summer this is a stunning area for hiking and in the winter you can head up north to ski, snowboard, snowshoe or even ice climb!
The closest town the quaint Glacier, WA. Only an hour away though you will find Bellingham, WA- a gorgeous city on the water.
When Is The Best Time To Go To Hygge House?
I would argue that there is no wrong time to go to the Hygge House! Cozy up and enjoy soft snowy views and head to the Baker ski resort or come in the Spring and summer and soak amongst the lush ferns.

Things To Do At The Most Romantic Cabin In Washington State
Soak In The Hot Tub
I truly believe this is the dreamiest hot tub I have ever experienced. The lights, ferns, wooden deck and tub all lend themselves to an undeniably romantic experience.
Sip Tea or Coffee On The Deck
Take in the morning sun and sip coffee and tea out on the lovely deck that overlooks the forest below- if it’s raining you can easily perch on the sofa and watch the forest from afar- the stunning windows allow you this wonderful choice.
Drink Wine By The Cozy Fire
Cozy up with loved ones and watch the fire crackle while you sip wine and eat a dinner prepared in the stunning kitchen. While this cabin is small it is well-stocked with all the spices, oils, and essentials you need to make a lovely gourmet meal!
What To Do Near Hygge House
Watch Sunrise or Sunset At Artist Point
One of the best parts about this cabin is it’s proximity to Artist Point– easily enjoyed in the Summer or Winter this is one of the most gorgeous lookouts in the state! I could rave all day about this area but you really should just go check it out for yourself!
Hike Into The Mt. Baker Wilderness
Luckily for you there are tons of hikes within an hour’s radius of this cabin- take a stroll to see the fall leaves turn on Yellow Aster Butte, check out a fire lookout at Whinchester Lookout or enjoy lakes and more at Chain Lakes.
Grab a Pastry and Coffee At Wake-N-Bakery
Only 5 minutes away is one of my favorite bakeries in Washington- the Wake ‘n’ Bakery ! They have amazing breakfast wraps and wonderful coffee. This cute lil spot is tucked away in Glacier, WA but is well known by everyone around!
What To Bring To Hygge House
Food & Drinks
This cabin is quite secluded, meaning a real grocery store is going to be quite a drive. If you need some small extras there are some places in Glacier, WA but don’t expect a large selection. Stop at a grocery store along the way and grab food and maybe a bottle of wine if your into the sort of thing 😉
A Book
This is one of the best places I have found to just disconnect and immerse myself in a book of my choice.
Comfy Clothes & Swimsuit
It’s not a weekend getaway without sweatpants and cozy sweaters- do yourself a favor and pack your favorite comfy clothes!
