Winter has always been a hard time of year for me- in the PNW the grey takes over and my favorite places become inaccessible- it was hard for me to find the good in all of it.

Now, looking at these photos of snow capped mountains & frosty blue lakes it’s easy to see the beauty I may have initially missed 🫶🏻

In Hawaii they call these turtles, “honu” and they are a vital part of the marine ecosystem! They can live up to 100 years old (!!!) and can hold their breath underwater for 4 hrs 🤯

Remember, if you see these lovely guys on the beach or in the ocean to give them some distance and never touch! 🫶🏻

For years I have admired underwater photography, i

For years I have admired underwater photography, it’s one of those art forms that just absolutely blows me away.

Living in Seattle never gave me the chance to expand into it, and so when I got the opportunity to move to Hawaii I knew it would be my sole focus.

To be honest, it took me longer than I thought. Getting certified in scuba & freediving, comfortable in the ocean & actually semi good at diving, and then finding the right (and affording) housing for my camera took me almost 1.5 years.

I’m finally at the place where I am consistently diving with my camera, and it feels SO good. This underwater world is so new and exciting for me, and capturing it is so fun 🥹

Here are some shots from the first time I took my housing out in the water, I can’t think of a better way to start underwater photography than a shark dive in Oahu 🦈

I can’t wait to start sharing more and more of this underwater world with you guys 🩵🐳🐠💙🌊
