Best Places To Stay Near Grand Tetons National Park FAQ
Where do you stay when you visit the Grand Tetons National Park?
While visiting the Grand Tetons National Park there are a few main areas most people stay:
The National Park
You will find some amazing lodges, cabins and campsites within the actual park. These require reservations far in advance but are perfect for those who want to immerse themselves in nature.
Jackson Hole
Jackson Hole is the closest city to Grand Teton National Park and one of the main areas people opt to stay in.
Jackson Hole has a great variety of hotels and motels along with a thriving boutique and food scene. It is also only a 10 minute or so drive from the park.
Teton Village
This is the ski area right near Jackson Hole and the Grand Tetons National Park here you will find upscale resorts and hotels.
The Teton Village area is most popular in the Winter but you can also stay here during other seasons. While it is a bit farther from the park and can take around 30 minutes to get into the park on occasion you can take Moose Wilson rd into the park, which can sometimes be closed.
Wilson, Wyoming
A bit outside of Jackson Hole sits the small town of Wilson, WY.
Here you will find cabins and smaller resorts spread out in the landscape. It has a bit more of a rural feel and is still only 7 miles away from Jackson.
Is Jackson Hole a good place to stay when visiting the Grand Tetons?
Yes! Jackson Hole is a great place to stay when visiting the Grand Tetons. The only downside is that the town itself can get quite busy and can be a bit expensive to stay in.
Otherwise, Jackson Hole has great access to the national park as well as some really fun experiences right in town!
Is it better to stay in Jackson or Teton Village in the Summer?
Personally, I would say Jackson Hole– BUT this is a subjective experience and could be different for everyone.
I love that Jackson Hole has tons of fun stores, restaurants and boutiques right around the hotel areas and that the park is super accessible.
On the other hand the Teton Village has better views and is definitely more open and spread out. You can also directly enter the park through Moose Wilson rd (if open!) which is really nice.
